Creating MAGNEblink's Logo Design

Client Information

Mariel Falla is an owner of a startup beauty company called MAGNEblink that caters to ambitious individuals that are interested in enhancing themselves. The essence of beauty comes in different shapes and forms. MAGNEblink reassures that their products will magnify and elevate anyone's true beauty on any occasion.

Challenge

For 2 weeks, I've created a logo design that best represents MAGNEblink's branding initiative. The design needs to be easily transferable for packaging or for other future merchandises.

Goals & Deliverables

  • Logo Design

  • Product Mockups

Thought Process

Paper Sketches

  • The client wanted to stray away from the typical lash beauty brand designs that felt tacky and overused.

  • These sketches were focused on conceptualizing the various types of shapes to use in depicting an eye.

  • They enjoyed the idea of having a symmetrical design without any borders surrounding the logo.

Digital Design Drafts

Client Takeaways

  • She enjoyed the different digital designs but she was more drawn towards the eyes that were less “organic” looking.

  • The client requested to lean towards designing an eye that gives off a feeling of simplicity, modern elegance, and vibrant flare.

  • We came to an agreement that having a border around the eye distracts the overall design.

Inspirations

I've gathered various references that I believe would help me align my ideas together and form a more cohesive design. The photos were from video games, artists, and podcast covers.

Digital Logo Designs

Vibrant Peacock

I was inspired in creating this design from watching a nature documentary about peacocks. I was fascinated by the patterns on their feathers and how the overall design felt light.

Elegant Teardrops

This design was leaning towards a more simple and direct approach on representing an elegant eye. The solid shapes used within the design reinforces the feeling of stability and strength.

Fierce Goddess

I went to a more playful approach and diverged from curved shapes to more angular design instead. This design felt very mystical but the patterns were too small to be seen from afar.

Fabulous Rain

I took the first two designs and combined them together to create a more detailed logo. However, this design was too overwhelming and the company name wasn't very noticeable.

Final Logo Design

Conclusion

  • We both agreed that the Elegant Teardrops design was the ideal logo to use for MAGNEblink's brand because of its simplicity and straightforward design.

  • Also, the logo would be recognizable from a distance and it could be easily scaled down for smaller products.
